A visit to Piratemania in Germany ... another Block Party

The popular UK pirate-themed geocaching mega event went global in 2025 with a team from Germany picking up the gauntlet for a week of pirate activities in Nord Rhein Westphalia.

I took up the challenge of attending and made the long road trip via the Channel Tunnel, Belgium and through western Germany along the Autobahn.

On the way I stopped off at a huge opencast mine. It was absolutely enormous and had thousands of AdLabs to do. I gave it 2 hours and by then I was bored so I continued my journey.

A few Brits were there, plus some from the Nederlands and Scandinavia. But of course, mostly from Germany.

I made a video (check the Videos channel).. found loads of caches and made some new friends.
